The Flood of Houston.

The devastating Hurricane Harvey hits the city of Houston. The rains are still pouring throughout the city rapidly increasing the floodwaters. The death toll is estimated to have reached 30. A detailed report of the flood can be found in this New York Times report.

What we can get from this situation is that of what we could understand from all the floods and hurricanes in general. We know people are all trying to live in a comfortable situation, which we call as getting settled. But we should ask ourselves honestly "Are we really getting settled?" The answer that I would say is a "no," since who could really get setlled. I mean everyone needs to work daily to get their security. Even if we get our security, we need to understand how, in what way, how long, and in what sense. We just assume that money will get us what we truly needs, but it is not so. We understand that when we see these kinds of situations, floods, hurricanes, tsunamis, wars and all those sufferings or if not, we will understand when we get in those situations.

So what could we all do in future about these kind of situations. These situations are not going to end. In fact, maybe, it could become worse. So we need to act now. Everyone says act now, but the actions will only be that long when people began to forget these situations and the sufferings that brought with it. That is not what we need. We need to have consistency. Consistency to protect each other, in all these situations. There is war going on in Syria, Israel-Palestine etc. No need to understand that because that's not our place isn't it? Well, it is not so, because if something happens in some place it is going to affect us, good or bad. So we need to be constantly aware of the situations that are going on around us and need to act individually, whatever that might be, because we might not know which will make a diffrence. What I am trying to tell is simply, "Don't ignore." Right now everyone,
just think what could be done for the ones suffering in the Houston floods.

Don't need to do so much, just a tweet in twitter, or a post in Facebook would be enough. It all counts. Together we can do so much.
